Sara Watson was born and raised in Modesto, CA. Her natural born talent in photography comes from her family gene pool. Her grandfather, Jack Broome, opened the family business, The Camera Center in Modesto, CA in 1946. And many other family members have followed the professional photography career path.
Sara’s own photography path started when she was 12 years old, when her father gave her, her first film camera (Nikon FE). She continued shooting film throughout her high school and junior college career, working out of the darkroom. In the fall of 2007 she achieved her goal of transferring to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Since then, Sara has crossed over to the digital photography world, and continues to thrive and gain more knowledge to her photography career.
Sara’s intimate portrait moments and conceptual fine art scenes are a reflection of her life and her view of the world she inhabits. She shoots with a respect for tradition capturing real people and subjects in uncomplicated and natural settings.
Recently, Sara has had the opportunity to have her work published in the book, Best of College Photography 2010.
